Using normative modeling to measure the interindividual variability of atypical brain functional connectivity in autism, the authors identify heterogeneity at the level of specific connections alongside high convergence at regional and network scales. These findings offer a neurobiological framework for understanding both individual differences and shared clinical features in autism.
